Educational Excellence Award (Secondary)
This award recognizes a high school student who has showcased exceptional academic achievement, extra-curricular involvement and a significant contribution to his/her community.
Educational Excellence Award (Post-Secondary)
This award recognizes a post-secondary student who has showcased exceptional academic achievement, extra-curricular involvement and a significant contribution to his/her community.
Educator of the Year Award
This award recognizes an exceptionally dedicated, knowledgeable, skilled and active educator in any Canadian province for his/her remarkable achievements and commitment to inspiring and engaging students in order to help them achieve their full academic and social potential; and, made significant contribution to the local community beyond the classroom.
Young Leader of the Year Award
This award recognizes a youth leader, below 30 years of age, who inspires the youth to promote just, peaceful and inclusive society; and, exemplifies the integrity and commitment towards improving the lives of others.
Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award
This award is given to the founder and/or owner of a small to medium business that is in operation for at least two (2) years. Must be below 30 years old. The awardee should exemplify solid financial performance, excellent leadership, personal integrity and influence, innovative and demonstrate entrepreneurial spirit.
Entrepreneur of the Year Award
This award is given to the founder and/or owner of a small to medium business that is in operation for at least two (2) years. Must be 30 years of age or older. The awardee should exemplify solid financial performance, excellent leadership, personal integrity and influence, innovative and demonstrate entrepreneurial spirit.
Executive of the Year Award
This award recognizes the outstanding achievements and exemplary contribution of a full-time senior/management employee to his/her company and the Canadian community and has demonstrated exemplary courage, leadership, vision and innovativeness.
Business Excellence Award
This award is given to a Filipino-Canadian company whose significant business achievements have made an important contribution to the economic and social well-being of Canada.
Manggagawang Pilipino of the Year Award
This award recognizes an individual who has made an outstanding impact to his/her place of work and the community; inspired other people; earned the respect, trust and confidence of his or her employer, superior(s) and co-worker(s); and, has proven his/her competence by being promoted in status or in rank, or awarded citation or recognition for distinguished and outstanding performance of his or her work duties and responsibilities, which in turn contributed to the growth or wellbeing of the work environment.
Excellence Award in Arts & Culture
This award recognizes an individual who has demonstrated exemplary achievement in the promotion, understanding and acceptance of the Filipino arts & culture in their community, and whose work has made a significant impact and inspired the community.
Excellence Award in Sports & Fitness
This award recognizes an individual who has demonstrated exemplary contribution and dedication for the betterment of a sport or a fitness activity, and whose work has touched and enriched the lives of others.
Excellence Award in Media
This award recognizes an individual who has demonstrated outstanding achievements in the field of mass media; continues to demonstrate an ongoing commitment to pursuing excellence; and, whose work has made a significant impact and inspired the community.
Excellence Award in Music & Entertainment
This award recognizes the performing artist who displayed an impressive competence in various aspects of the entertainment field and has demonstrated an ongoing commitment to pursuing excellence. Consideration is given to recorded and live performance, public acceptance, attitude, leadership, and over-all contribution to the entertainment industry within and/or beyond the Filipino Canadian community.
Senior Achievement Award
This award recognizes a citizen, 60 years of age and above, who has made an outstanding contribution to his/her community by making their community a better place to live. He/she must not hold a political office and achievements must not be related to a political service.
Most Influential Community Organization of the Year Award
This award recognizes a registered organization – non-government and non-profit Canadian organization – for demonstrating outstanding service to the community, and, has implemented, improved, supported, or assisted a local established project or program that has been operating for a minimum 12 months.
Community Service Award
This award recognizes an individual who is making a significant contribution to their community through their time, actions, talents and dedication in their volunteer activities; demonstrates qualities of compassion, and service to either one organization or a variety of volunteer activities; and serves as a role model for compassion, dedication and service.
Pinoy of the Year Award
This award recognizes a Filipino Canadian who has made the most significant impact to the community through his/her contribution in his/her chosen field of endeavor.
Golden Balangay Lifetime Achievement Award
The lifetime achievement award honors an individual who has made a major impact to the Canadian community during his/her lifetime.
